APCS Score=2

Reason for Score: Although we use a variety of assessments to determine instructional needs (including Dibels, BRI,
Brigance, Metropolitan, Wide-range Abilities, ITBS) we need to become more intentional and strategic about analyzing both academic and baptismal data.
Action Plan: We will review baptismal date prior to each baptismal class offered by the pastors and make invitations to students who have not been baptised. We will also carefully review testing data to inform instruction.
Timeline: 2012-2013 school year

Criterion #8
Recruitment and Retention Plan, Satisfaction, Mission and Vision Statements |
Analyzation and implementation of the school’s mission and
vision statements takes place annually. |
The school has a written school development, recruitment,
and retention plan; and the school board has a yearly systematic method for implementing the following: Analyzing enrollment trends; recruitment of students who do not attend; analyzing satisfaction levels and needs of current students, students who leave, parents, constituents, and stakeholders; analyzation. |
APCS Score=2
Progressing |
Reason for Score: The school principal and marketing and development director work together on recruitment and
retention plans including the analysis of enrollment trends and recruitment of students. Each spring, APCS invites prospective students and their parents to attend Preview Day during which students experience the classrooms they would be in the following fall and parents meet with the principal and marketing and development director for tours and Q&A time. The school annually performs satisfaction surveys. Last year, the school hired Grace Works to conduct a satisfaction survey which went to current
students and parents, students and parents from the past five years, board members, key leaders, and major donors. The board has used the responses from the survey to develop an action plan for school improvement.
The school board periodicaly reviews the mission and vision statements. These statements are published on the school web site and are included in the school's fundraising proposals.
Action Plan: We will put these plans in writing and analyze the mission and vision statements annually.

APCS Score=2
Progressing |
Reason for Score: We have a well-stocked, beautiful library that includes a variety of Bible-based and/or
spiritual topics, reference books, and resources. We have recently upgraded our library for digital checkout. However, we do not have a designated librarian to manage the library and to keep library cards and records current.
Action Plan: We will make sure all teachers are educated about the digital checkout system and about reshelving returned books when their classes come to the library. We will also make sure all students have current library cards. Jane Wade, Dily Pasos, and Linda Janetzko will continue to work together to keep the library in good order.

Reason for Score: Teachers utilize the data from testing and assessments to make decisions regarding differentiated instruction that follows the natural cycle of learning. Students who have special needs have the opportunity to receive individualized instruction in the Hope Learning Center where the Orton-Gillingham method of instruction is used to target individual needs and remediate based on specific areas of weakness. Within the regular classrooms, students are leveled according to ability in spelling, reading and math.
Action Plan: Continue current methods. Administer 4-MAT testing to all staff and students to determine their personal teaching/learning style. Use this information to direct instruction. Create and use at least two 4-MAT lessons each.
